Declutter and clean
Sometimes we just don't know where to start to give that feeling of space, everything needs to look clean and inviting, enticing others to buy into a way of living.
I viewed a property when looking for an in law (who have now been in their new property for over a year), which is still on the market, reducing all the time, and I know why!
Just like selling a car; rooms have to be presented particularly for viewing. It is hard work and I quote an article from the Essex Chronicle:

Just like selling a car; rooms have to be presented particularly for viewing. It is hard work and I quote an article from the Essex Chronicle:
“We never realised that selling our home would mean committing ourselves to three to six months of community service in the form of constant daily housework”.
I know little Jimmie has had his friends over, the dog’s just been showered, shopping has just been done, the children have just had breakfast, the floor has been cleaned and the rubbish still has to go out, but as a prospective buyer I want to see it looking calm, clean, inviting, cosy, a place to eat in peace and see the lovely view of the garden if there is one.

Yes I am afraid it means living in a show place or restricting your viewings to a certain day each week where you can get the children and animals out of the house for a few hours.
In a family house, teenage rooms, kitchens and bathrooms are always the hardest to keep clutter free. |
Rooms will look so much bigger and brighter and it will stop the viewers looking at the clutter rather than what great a room it is. If there is a garden, make sure that this is also viewed clutter free as part of the viewing area from rooms.
